Based just outside of London The Matto Brothers were destined to end up in music in some form. Brought up in a household that was heavily music orientated it is easy to see how becoming DJ’s was a natural progression for them.
It wasn’t until they were in their mid-teens that DJing and house music really started to take over and amassing a huge record collection that any DJ would be proud of they spent hours and hours playing in their bedroom and from this they realised that this was what they wanted to do.
Their passion for house music led them to many clubbing nights and festivals and it was in 2006 that their lives would change when they saw Sven Vath at Warehouse Project and they became fixated on the Tech House and Techno genres. Taking influences from the likes of Richie Hawtin, Loco Dice, Magda, Ben Klock and Marco Carola to name a few, the brothers strive to emulate these artists and you can see this in the way they pick their tracks and in the technical ability they have on the decks.
