Born to Caribbean parents on 15 August 1989, Aaron JM (real name Jevanni Aaron Letford) has always had an upbringing influenced by music. Before he could talk, Aaron JM was exposed to the quirkiness of Disco, Reggae, Dub and House. From an early age he benefited from his father (Sly Fox of Architect) being a household name on London pirate radio stations such as Station FM and Style FM. Aaron JM’s first exposure to a pair of decks came as early as 1998 when he was aged 9 – his father had urged him to follow in his steps.

Unfortunately, this was a time too soon for Aaron JM. Aside from taking up piano lessons, Aaron JM’s relationship with music over the next 5 years would be via MTV, The Box, VH1 and whatever music he would hear his dad play.

As the years went by, Aaron JM started a Law degree at the University of Essex. In order to finance his living, he began to throw events in Essex and London whilst presenting a radio show on his university station. Naturally, the seed planted by his father all those years ago began to sprout. Aaron JM picked up the decks willingly as an attempt to reduce his costs on having to book DJs to play at his events. It was the opportunity to play abroad in Malia and Mexico during 2009 which really inspired Aaron JM to take his DJ’ing to the next level. Radio show stints on London’s UKflow and Havit FM established him as a key player.

Aaron JM graduated from university in 2010 and decided to actively pursue a career in law. Many felt that DJ’ing and acting as a solicitor would be two worlds incompatible with each other. Aaron JM soon proved them wrong. Currently working at a law firm in St Paul’s, London, Aaron JM is fastly becoming known as the City Workers’ number one DJ.

Aaron JM’s early experience in the urban music scene, coupled with his exposure to a large amount of professional city workers means his sound contains a unique mix-up of Deep House, Disco, Tech & Garage with a sprinkle of Caribbean influence Aaron JM certainly has the dance floor packed from the off.

Recent years have seen Aaron JM hold down residency in Ibiza, along with play at venues and festivals across the world (Mexico, Greece, Spain, America and Malaysia to mention a few). He is rapidly establishing himself as an international talent based in the heart of London. With a huge following stemming from solicitors, bankers and general city workers’ one thing that unites them is the love for real music. Aaron JM delivers!
