DeanJay first learned to mix back in 1984 aged 13 when his older brother bought a pair of 1210’s. He learnt how to mix on them before his brother did (on the quiet while he was out working). Already a lover of Soul and Hip Hop this new skill lead to him being taken over by this music and later on House music. To say he loves house is a massive understatement, he lives and breathes it. Currently a resident for Flawless Dean has played at most of London’s house venues including Turnmills, MoS, Bagleys, Hidden, Pacha, Urban Inc and at countless bars in and around London. Dean Made his Ibiza DJing Debut in 2006, the highlight of this trip was the Legendary Heat Boat Party as he got the party started right with a set currently ranking high on WaxDj.com. He also played at Es Paradis and twice at the sublime Kanya Beach Club during their daytime sessions. Dean will be returning in July 2008 with flawless to again play at Boat parties, Beach parties and Kanya. Next on the horizon is a summer session in Marbella with the forward thinking guys at SOS (Save our Soul) who will be bringing the Soulful House vibe to the Costa Del Soul for the first time. After that, Dean has plans to take his sound to Cape Town, Jo’burg and New York…

Dean plays House in many forms including Soulful, Deep and Vocal. Expect lots of Pianos, Strings, Smooth Vocals but always expect quality house music.

1. How long have you been DJ’ing?
22 years!! started way back in 86. I was mainly into soul and hip hop back then. but shifted my tastes towards house/us garage during the acid and warehouse days and then onto the more soulful side of House now - but always House and House always!


2. What got you started into DJ’ing?
My brothers shiny new 1210’s back in ‘86 - was told to ‘keep my grubby little hands off them’ - which made me more determined to play with them when he went out.
