Growing up in South Wales Jamie was regularly exposed to illegal outdoor parties where friends provided him with mix tapes leading him to seek out new music further afield. After seeing artists like Carl Cox and Josh wink at Glastonbury Festival he tirelessly and religiously travelled back and forth between Birmingham and his home town in Wales, frequenting monthly nights such as Atomic Jam and House of God.
Initially the music scene in Birmingham influenced him with a harder sound being shaped by artists like Surgeon, James Ruskin and Oliver Ho. This was later off set with performances from Detroit legends such as DJ Bone, Derrick May and Juan Atkins. It was these latter artists that exposed him to a completely different sound, encompassing melodic and heartfelt textures further influencing his discovery and love for techno. Whilst these styles were the foundation for his taste it was during the following years that a more European looped techno sound was embraced, listening to artists such as The Advent, Ben Sims and Gaetano Parisio.
