One-of-a-kind singer/songwriter Angela Aki is a gift of two cultures, Japan and America.
She was born in Tokushima, to a Japanese father and Italian-American mother.
Angela Aki began to take piano lessons when she was three years old and spent her youth in Tokushima and Okayama.
She moved to Hawaii when she was 15, graduated from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. majoring in political science.
She started her music career ardently when she was in university and returned Japan in 2003.
Angela Aki major debuted as single “HOME” in 2005 and released album “Home” in 2006. The album sales exceeded 600,000 copies and became a long selling album.
In December of the same year, she became the first person in the history of Nippon Budokan (capacity of 14,000) to perform a solo, sing-along piano concert. Tickets for this notable feat sold out immediately.
She released her 2nd album “TODAY”.
In 2008, she released single “Tegami ~ Haikei Jyugo No Kimie~” and the song became a long seller being popular across all generations and entitled “platinum disc’’
In 2009, she released 3rd album “ANSWER”.
In 2010, she released 4th album “LIFE”.
In 2011, she released 5th album “WHITE”.
