Born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan, DJ/Producer Sonia Calico has been at the forefront of Taiwan’s dance music scene. Having performed at renowned festivals such as SXSW, Summer Sonic, and Fuji Rock Festival as a core member of electronic female rock group “Go Chic”, she began to pursue her solo career under Sonia Calico with influences from Juke, Chill Trap, Bass, Hip-Hop and Amen Break, creating an edgier and unique sound. She formed her own collective “UnderU” and is also apart of the Beijing based label “Do Hits”. Her endeavours led to a recent appearance one of Asia’s first and Taipei’s first Boiler Room event.
