Originally classically trained, he listened to his first trance record at the age of 13 and began to take a greater interest in EDM.　He recalls "Chicane's 'Far From The Maddening Crowd' provided so many beautiful chords and lush harmonies and when combined with a club feel, it proved difficult not to take an interest in trance."

His favourite era to date has been 1998 - 2000. "I think trance was on a peak. Nothing was taken for granted, and over 95% of the stuff being produced was fresh and innovative. Today it's different. So many DJs and producers have gone commercial in the hope of mass appeal, and as a result I believe have lost the magic that made trance what it once was."

Some of his favourite producers and DJs include Matt Darey, Paul Oakenfold, Chicane, Ulrich Schnauss and Paul van Dyk.
