Several books have been published to share Japanese culture and traditions, particularly in the earlier 20th century. Story by Lafcadio Hearn (1850-1904) “Snow woman” “Common sense” and Ryunosuke Akutagawa (1892-1927) “The spider's thread” and “The immortal.” Lafcadio Hearn was a Japanese writer of Greek-Irish descent, best remembered for his books about Japanese culture, particularly his collections of legends and ghost stories. Ryunosuke Akutagawa was also a Japanese writer regarded as the “father of the Japanese short story”, who won several awards for his literary works.
