Zane Carney brings his virtuosic guitar prowess and eclectic sound to Tokyo on December 5th-7th at Good Heavens. Doors open at 6pm, show starts at 8pm, and each evening will feature a unique setlist.

Carney is most known for his work with John Mayer, Thundercat, and Foster The People. Over the years, he has performed with Kamasi Washington, Ronald Bruner Jr., Brandon Coleman, Cameron Graves, and Sam Gendel. Other work includes being part of the GRAMMY-nominated John Daversa Big Band; forming a film scoring partnership with pianist Tommy King and releasing a record entitled "Film;" and co-writing on MIYAVI's newest album.

AllAboutJazz recognized Carney as a multifaceted guitarist who brings depth, nuance, rhythmic intricacy, and melodic variety, and as an "unconventional composer whose vision is unbound to genre or temperament."

His debut album as a jazz quartet bandleader, "Alter Ego," earned a 5/5 rating from UK Vibe, which described it "astonishing," "brilliantly crafted," "ferocious fire," and pioneering "an adventurous new wave of free improvisation."

At Good Heavens, Carney will be unveiling his latest singer-songwriter material along with live, improvised, experimental compositions and selections from his work as a jazz/blues guitarist. He is celebrating the release of "Is Anybody Else Out Here?" an ethereal and introspective track that blends elements of indie rock, alternative, ambient, and experimental influences, and features lush guitar tones, haunting vocals, contemplative lyrics, and a spacious, atmospheric, cinematic arrangement.
