The Raptures Vito Roccoforte and Gabriel Andruzzi are coming to Le Baron de Paris this summer! Post-punk nature exploded noisy chaotic night special definitely going to be a special night. Young Lovers…The guest music selectors are the kids from YOUNG LOVERS, the multinational party conceived right here at Le Baron de Paris. The four members are at the core of Tokyo’s fashion scene and alongside The Rapture, who are in demand from top global fashion labels, it’s sure to be a big, big night!

THE RAPTURE
New York band The Rapture first found fame in the UK, where their avant garde sound gathered a huge following. Luke Jenner (Vocals/Guitar) and Vito Roccoforte (Drums) formed the band in 1998 and released their debut album “Mirror” the same year. After several member changes, they arrived at their current lineup in 1999, when they met with Matt Safer (Bass/Vocals) at a gig in Washington DC. They are part of the DFA Records crew and the DFA-produced album “Out of the Races and Onto the Tracks” was released on Sub Pop Records in 2001. During this time Gabriel Andruzzi, who worked on production of that album, joined the band as an official member. In 2003 they signed a worldwide deal with leading underground label Vertigo, from which they released the long-player “Echoes”. The following year the track “House of Jealous Lovers”, from that same album, became a global hit. They played a live gig at the Prada store in New York for last year’s Fashion’s Night Out event organized by VOGUE. Their thrilling sound, which recalls the energy of bands like Suicide and Joy Division, as well as a their hardcore spirit and new generation post-punk sensibility makes them one of the world’s most highly respected bands.

YOUNG LOVERS
Having kicked off at Le Baron de Paris some three years ago, YOUNG LOVERS is a party put together by Elli-Rose, Walter Griao, Kon-Chan and Diego.

Elli-Rose (Van Cliffe. D)
Londoner Elli-Rose is a regular fixture in fashion magazines like ViVi, appears in the Tokyo Girls Collection, presents the show "STUDIO XL" on Space Shower TV and appears on Fuji TV’s "Football CX". She has found time during her busy schedule to hone her DJ skills. She started out at the party "Young Lovers" and later teamed up with model Diego to form DJ unit Van Cliffe.D. She began playing solo under the moniker ‘Van Cliffe D. (ELLI-ROSE)' in the spring of 2009 and in the summer of the same year she released a mix CD on Universal. Her deep and powerful sound fuses progressive house, techno and minimal.

Konchan (Boy Allergy)
Manuela Hiromi Kondo is a founding member of Young Lovers, along with Diego, Walter Griao, Gui Martinez and Elli-Rose. She is an accomplished skater and contributes to Brazilian skate bible Tribo Skate. With her slogan “Rape the Dancefloor” Konchan plays a high-energy set and has play alongside many of Tokyo’s top talents.

Walter Griao (GRIAO)
Born in Brazil in 1986, Walter graduated from Sao Paolo University with a degree in film before going on to works as a coach for aspiring actors and singers. In 2007 he took a trip to Japan in search of inspiration and the following year returned in order to make the city his home. In 2009 he launched his own fashion line GRIAO. For its first collection he was inspired by Lee Miller, model-turned-photographer and sometime lover of Man Ray. The collection will be available from spring 2010.

Gui Martinez (Gimme Um/Guim)
After an apprenticeship with renowned art director William Baker in London in 2007, Gui moved to Tokyo, where he currently works as a photographer. He is also known for his astounding drumming skills, honed during countless shows played on the underground punk scene of Sao Paulo and London. After moving to Tokyo in 2005, he was recruited to play for the now-defunct group the Vivians and in 2009 joined Gimme Um with Tim Sullivan, aka DAS MOTH. Gui is also in demand as a DJ at some of Tokyo’s edgiest club events.

Diego
Diego made his modeling debut in 2002 in a feature on Vivienne Westwood in Mr. High Fashion magazine. He is still a popular model to this day. In 2006 he started a party event with his friends called Young Lovers and the success of this scored him many DJ gigs at fashion parties. He went on to form the DJ unit Van Cliffe.D with model Elli-Rose. His eclectic mix of electro, rock, new wave and black music has made him a popular act.
