Ghettosocks is a Hip Hop Producer and MC born in Ottawa and living in Halifax, Nova Scotia. After producing two demos Ghettosocks released his debut LP, “Get Some Friends” in November of 2006. In 2007, he released his follow-up mixtape “I Can Make Your Dog Famous” with DJ Jorun Bombay. “Get Some Friends” debuted at 1 on both Chartattack and !Earshot college radio charts for 2007. The “I Can Make Your Dog Famous Mixtape” was still in the top 20 hip hop chart for !Earshot as of December 2009. “Treat of the Day” is his latest and best work to date. The album boasts 16 brand-new, high-cholesterol songs, featuring guest appearances from El da Sensei, Pumpkinhead, Edgar Allen Floe, Cesar Comanche, D-Sisive, Muneshine, Apt, and Timbuktu. The album is charting extremely well across the board and was slated as 1 for hip hop and at 119 in the top 200 chart for February 2010.

Ghettosocks has also been receiving heavy rotation for several of his videos on MuchMusic. Since his debut on J-Bru's “Help I've Been Robbed!” Socks has appeared in rotation for his songs “Step to a T-Rex”, Rhythmicru’s “We Have Come for you Children” (featured verse), Wordburglar’s “The Route” (featured production), “Don’t Turn Around” (with Edgar Allen Floe.), and Ghettosocks’ most recent hit “Out For Treats”.

Ghettosocks is Halifax's own Tony Bennett of the rap game. Putting the 'RA' back in 'RAP', Socks lyrically pushes, shoves, romances, and shoplifts his way on the mic. With a strong connection to the early '90s Hip Hop landscape, Socks explores fresh new terrain.

Founding member of Alpha Flight, known for his uncanny freestyling abilities, Ghettosocks has come of age with his first solo release, Get Some Friends. His latest release, I Can Make Your Dog Famous Mixtape, featuring the legendary DJ Jorun Bombay on the cuts, is the proving ground that Socks is the leader of a new breed of emcee.
