Manish started collecting vinyl in the 80’s and had soon amassed a wide library of grooves ranging from boogie, soul, jazz-funk, hip hop, electro etc.
Demand for his mix tapes grew as word spread, and it was this demand that made him take his musicology seriously. After a trip to Ibiza in the mid 90's, he started hearing house music mixed with music he grew up on. A cocktail of old and new tunes made him realise that his old music knowledge would naturally fuse into the deep house scene.
Manish set about honing his style and quickly found his feet.Helping to kick off the Shoreditch scene in the early days with such seminal parties as Lifted at the pool and Blowin' East helping it to become the new clubbing destination it now is
Throughout this time he was a constant guest at the now legendary "special" Lazy Dog parties at the now defunct but much loved End night club. He later went on to play with long time friend and Dj Jay Hannan at "Underdog" at the Notting Hill Arts club.
Manish then moved on to Co-Found the MUAK parties. A resident at both the original Rhythm Factory venue and later the Egg night club. Playing to a heaving Saturday night crowd for 8 years. Alongside his Dj'ing he found time ti hit the studio releasing the single So Good with Zaki on MUAK Music.
All the while Manish was touring extensively throughout the main European club destinations as well as keeping true to his underground roots at the various MUAK warehouse parties throughout London.
More recently Manish has once again hooked up with Jay Hannan to create Rude Movements. A deep party with an intense vibe. Started in Shoreditch RM has picked up quite a following and they are spreading the word farther afield with their special one off spots at the Notting hill arts Club.
He can also be found weekly at the Below Zero Bar off Regent Street.
Manish’s future is definitely bright. With him, it has and will always be…
All about the groove.
