Niccolo`Daniel Rufo, better known as Rufus, is to date one of the most forward-thinking and innovative djs to emerge from the Italian electronic music scene. His restless research into both old school and the freshest forms of dance music have inspired many Italian artists gravitating around the Bosconi Records circuit and the Florence scene. His talent scouting and artistic ideas for Bosconi are behind some of the most important label`s releases, Altz, Riccio, Rondenion, Oliverwho Factory, Altered Natives, Ricardo Miranda, Dj Nature, The Revenge, Mark E. His dj sets focus on open-minded positive and energetic music with a strong funky attitude, downbeat, disco, deep and jackin house (and why not, a right dose of good detroit bassline techno).
Playing shows all over Italy and the Florence residencies in clubs like Ex-Mud and Doris ( where he also worked for the art direction of their legendary friday nights), Tabasco, Tenax, Club 21, Rashomon and Fiesta Privada have contributed to solidly master his dj skills. In the recent past he has played along with artists such as Vakula, Linkwood, The Oliverwho Factory, San Proper, Space Dimension Controller, Julio Bashmore, Actress, Shed, Trus'me, Prins Thomas, Jesse Rose, Kalabrese, Jackmate, Cassy, Shinedoe, Portable, Metro Area, Jamie Jones, Todd Terje, Argy, Steve Kotey, Bruno Pronsato and Ekkohaus among others.
He played at Watergate and Maria in Berlin, Zukunft in Zurich, and Corsica Studios, Multi Vitamins and Lather Rinse Repeat in London, where he lived for 2 years sharing great moments and the passion for music with very influential friends. In 2006 Rufus also joined the electronic music tv-show "Extra" on All Music TV and touring Italy as an official Levi's dj in 2007 and playing in superclubs alongside famous djs such as Ame and Locodice.
