Haruka from Toyama x Borderline Arts Ensemble

A joint project by Yokohama-based "Haruka Toyama" and New Zealand dance company "Borderline Arts
Ensemble" with the motif of "Bake-kujira" a tradition handed down in Shimane Prefecture.
An organization of two countries that have something in common, an island country, expresses fear of the
unknown and the other world, and a sense of distance using physical expressions such as dance, images,
and lighting.

THE LAST WAVE explores the untouchable - shadows, mysteries, and long lost mythologies. Our search
is the quest for what lurks behind corners and in the velvety darkness of night.
In an indifferent world populated by elusive characters, there is an uncanny occurrence, the white bones of
a whale resurfacing in the ocean foam.  This event creates ripples that blur the boundaries between a
